Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Tessera app ("Tessera", "we", "us"). By downloading or using Tessera, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Tessera for your own non-commercial learning. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app or its content except as allowed by law.

2. Subscriptions

Module 1 is available free. Access to the full curriculum requires an auto-renewing subscription, sold through the Apple App Store.

Price. The subscription is US $4.99 per month (or the equivalent in your local currency as shown at purchase).
Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
Managing and canceling. You can manage or cancel in your device's Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Payment. All payments are processed by Apple and are subject to the App Store Terms of Sale. We do not receive or store your payment details.

3. Apple standard license terms

Tessera is licensed, not sold, to you, and your use is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard Apple EULA), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these Terms and Apple's standard EULA conflict for App Store usage, the relevant Apple terms apply.

4. Intellectual property

Tessera, including its lessons, illustrations, characters, and design, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. The Tessera name and mark may not be used without permission.

5. Educational content

Tessera is a learning tool for introductory financial accounting. Its content is provided for educational purposes only and is not professional accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice. Always consult a qualified professional for real-world decisions.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

Tessera is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content is complete or accurate.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Tessera. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use of Tessera after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
